Reading Program at Rothewood Academy

Reading takes us into a magical world!

Our goal with our Rothewood Academy Reading Program is to help build a love of reading. We know that children who love books are very motivated to learn to read for themselves. This creates an eager and enthusiastic learner!

Reading is the one activity that, once acquired, will expand the child’s knowledge in every other area; once a child has learned to read, a whole world of possibilities opens up – it is like taking a giant step forward into the world with confidence and a sense of independence for the child.

This is a huge milestone for a child when they learn to read. Reading gives the child self-confidence, independence and the ability to entertain oneself!

This course supports the educators in digging deeper into designing richer reading experiences in classrooms.
