Rothewood Academy Richmond 60 Google reviews Stephanie MunnAugust 25, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently attended an open house at the Rothewood Garden City location in Richmond, BC. The facility and staff give me the confidence that my own children, along with my nieces and nephews, and friend’s children would all thrive in this wonderful learning environment. The entire facility was clean and offered many activities for the appropriate age groups to learn and grow. The educators all seemed like they were genuinely interested in our children and ensuring they grow to their full potential. As a working parent, this is so crucial to know that our kids would be well cared for. Highly recommend, although they have a wait list, so get in as soon as you can! My son has been enrolled at Rothewood since he turned 1 and even though we are sad to leave, my son will forever remember all the things he’s learned and the connections he’s made with friends and teachers. Sandy, Michelle and the rest of the educators at Rothewood are all amazing at what they do and they set the bar high with the quality of care they provide to children. She joined when she was 11 months old and has just turned 2. From the first day she started school there, I have been continuously impressed by the teachers and staff's warmth, dedication, and professionalism. My daughter loves going to daycare every morning, not only because every day is filled with music, art, and both outdoor and indoor activities, but also because of the attention the teachers have given her to meet her emotional needs. We just attended our second-ever Rothewood Family Fun Day, with this year's theme being "Around the World." The attention to detail in the decorations, activities, and entertainment was remarkable and truly brought each culture to life. From the Great Wall, red lanterns, and delicious Jiaozi in China, to the tasty nachos and sombrero activities in Mexico, and the Korean Danseon and beautiful hanbok, which was so pretty that my daughter felt lucky to try it on, the beautiful songs sung by the teachers from the Philippines, the Vietnamese non la hat, Malaysian pork meat, the Goldfish scooping activity in Japan, and the famous Hong Kong tramways — There was so much to explore that we stayed for 3 hours and still had to rush through some areas. My daughter was captivated by the interactive activities and the opportunity to learn about different traditions and practices from around the globe. It was both educational and entertaining. We appreciated all the effort that the teachers and staff put into making the experience enriching not only for the children but also for family members of all ages. I highly recommend Rothewood. This is truly an amazing educational place for kids. Watching my daughter grow from a vulnerable crawling baby into a bright, curious, and active two-year-old toddler has been a wonderful experience. It is undoubtedly the best decision I've made for her by now. She has been attending Rothewood since she was 12 months old. She was a tiny baby in the baby class, and now she has blossomed into a confident JK3 student. The care and support she's received throughout her growth have been outstanding! At Rothewood, toddlers under 3-year-old are grouped by their birth months. The age difference within the same class is smaller than 3 months. Baby class teachers are experienced in taking care of little babies. When my daughter first came to Rothewood, she could not walk. When the weather condition was not good, teachers put her and other little babies who could not walk steadily on four-seat strollers to enjoy outdoor time and keep them from getting cold and sick. (Lots of daycare centres do not have the facilities). The school's facilities are truly top-notch in Greater Vancouver! From well-equipped classrooms to spacious playground, they offer an outstanding environment for students to learn and grow. All teachers, the staff, the principal are friendly, caring, and patient with kids and make parents feel welcome and supported in the Rothewood Community especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. As parents, we can know what our little one does by watching in-class camera, and we also receive monthly newsletters on their curriculum. Rothewood holds a parent-teacher conference every half a year. We really appreciate that we can talk with teachers on the progress of our own kids in person during the 30-minute session. Educational philosophies are as diverse as the parents themselves, each with their own distinct aspirations for their child's early education. Should your expectations lean towards expecting a 3-year-old to be proficient in writing their name or performing mathematical operations, Rothewood might not meet those particular criteria. We are incredibly grateful to Rothewood for their thoughtful approach to early childhood education. They understand the importance of not pushing kids into academics too early, allowing them to explore, play, and develop at their own pace, which is aligned with our own teaching philosophy. Instead of feeling pressured, our little one is excited to learn and has developed a genuine love for discovering new things. It is heartwarming to see her natural curiosity thrive in such a nurturing environment. As working parents, we couldn't be happier with the flexibility this school offers! The option for drop-in and pick-up times from 7:00 am to 6:00 pm suits schedules of most working parents. Moreover, the school's brilliant idea of arranging special events on weekends and Friday afternoon has saved us loads of paid time off. We get to be present for important moments without worrying about work commitments. It's a thoughtful and considerate approach that truly supports working families. What is more, Rothewood provides morning snack, lunch and afternoon snack (Menu is sent to parents via email). They make my life as a working mom easy. I fully recommend Rothewood for any child in my neighbourhood and the Richmond City Center location is definitely an amazing educational place for children👍. Update: My daughter started at Rothewood when she was 12 months old, and now she is leaving the school to start kindergarten. We are deeply grateful to all the teachers and staff for their dedication and care. Over the years, we have witnessed her transformation from a tiny, fussy baby into a confident, agreeable, and well-behaved young girl. Enrolling her in Rothewood has been one of the best decisions we've made for her. Gloria WuApril 12, 2024Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My son went in to rothewood since he was 13 month, and now he is 2 years old, I can’t explain how grateful and satisfied I am to all the teachers and staff. My son barely cried when he went to the daycare at first, and sometimes he doesn’t want to go home in the afternoon. He likes all his teachers. All events are interesting, and went really well. Really thankful to all the teachers, and also Miss Sandy and Michelle! I have already recommended to my friends. We enrolled our son in Rothewood Academy in Richmond for almost a year now and it has been an absolutely delightful experience. From day one, the warmth and professionalism of the teachers and staff were immediately evident. The principal, in particular, deserves special mention for her exceptional leadership and the nurturing environment she fostered within the academy. It's clear every staff there go above and beyond to ensure every child feels valued and supported. What stands out the most to us, however, is how much our son loves being there. He wakes up each morning eager to go to daycare. He feels safe, cared for, and genuinely enjoys his time with his teachers and friends. This peace of mind is invaluable for us as parents, knowing our child is not just in good hands but is thriving in an environment that encourages his growth and happiness. To any parents considering Rothewood Academy for their children, I cannot recommend it highly enough.
